Bow Infinity Fix Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I shoot an Infinity bow with no arrows in my inventory?
Just enchant a bow with Infinity and fire it — with this mod installed, the bow shoots normally even when you're carrying zero arrows. No setup or config is needed; the mod removes the vanilla requirement automatically.
Why won't my Infinity bow fire even though I have the mod?
Check that the bow actually has the Infinity enchantment, since the mod only changes the arrow requirement and doesn't add the enchantment for you. Also make sure you're not in Creative mode expecting the same behavior, and confirm the mod loaded for your Minecraft version.
Does this mod work on crossbows too?
Yes, on Minecraft 1.20.5 and newer, crossbows with Infinity are handled the same way as bows, so they fire without arrows in your inventory. On older versions, only bows are affected.
Do I still need to carry one arrow for Infinity to work?
No — that's the whole point of the mod. Vanilla quietly requires at least one arrow in your inventory for Infinity to function, and this mod drops that requirement so you can free up the slot.
Will this mod work with special arrows like tipped or spectral arrows?
The mod is about removing the need for a spare arrow, not about changing which arrows you can fire. If you want to shoot tipped or spectral arrows, you still need those specific arrows in your inventory, since Infinity only covers normal arrow behavior.
Does Infinity still consume arrows when I do have them?
With Infinity enchanted, the bow doesn't consume arrows regardless of whether you're carrying any, so having arrows in your inventory won't cause them to be used up. The mod just makes the zero-arrow case work too.
Is this mod compatible with other bow or enchantment mods?
It's a small, focused mod that only changes the arrow requirement, so it generally plays fine alongside other bow and enchantment mods. If another mod rewrites how Infinity or bow firing works, test them together to be sure.
Do I need to configure anything after installing?
No — there's no config file to edit and no new items, blocks or recipes. Once the mod is loaded, Infinity bows and (on newer versions) crossbows just work without arrows.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
It's a tiny change to a single firing check, so it has no meaningful performance impact. You shouldn't notice any difference in framerate or server tick time.
Does it work on both Fabric, Forge and NeoForge?
Yes, one jar covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across supported Minecraft versions. Just make sure you're using the build that matches your loader and game version.
