Plan Your Base Layout for Border Expansion
Adapting to a Growing World
Your base will be surrounded by walls initially, then freed as the border expands. Plan your layout to work both in tight spaces and in larger areas.
Early Game Layout
Start with a compact, vertical base. Stack your crafting stations, furnaces, and storage in one small structure. This saves space and keeps everything accessible. Place your XP farms nearby but separate from your living area to avoid mob spawning in your base.
Preparing for Expansion
Build your initial base slightly off-center, leaving room to expand outward as walls recede. Avoid placing permanent structures right against the current border—they'll be in awkward positions once the world opens up.
Plan ahead: Mark out where you want major farms, a perimeter, or secondary bases once you have more space.
Mid-Game Restructuring
As your border grows, you can spread out. Build dedicated farms away from your main base, create storage facilities, or establish outposts. Connect these with paths or nether tunnels for easy travel.
Tip: Keep your original base as a central hub. Expand around it rather than relocating completely. This maintains a sense of home while letting your world grow naturally.
