Boosted FPS Modpack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why is my FPS still low even with this modpack installed?
Check your in-game video settings—lower render distance, disable fancy graphics, and reduce chunk loading distance. You can also fine-tune Sodium settings in the Video Settings menu for additional performance gains, or disable mods you don't need through the Mods button in the main menu.
How do I see my current FPS?
Press F3 to open the debug screen, which displays your FPS in the top-left corner. You can also enable a persistent FPS counter through the Video Settings menu without needing the debug screen open.
Can I play on Hypixel with this modpack?
Yes, this modpack is Hypixel-ready and includes the Hypixel server pre-loaded. Simply launch the modpack and select the Hypixel server from the multiplayer menu to connect.
Which mods are causing lag in this pack?
Open the Mods button in the main menu to see all installed mods. If you suspect a specific mod is causing issues, you can disable it there and restart to test performance—most mods in this pack are performance-focused, so lag usually comes from your system settings rather than the mods themselves.
Is this modpack safe to use on servers?
Most mods in this pack are client-side performance mods and are safe on servers, but some servers ban specific mods. Always check your server's mod policy before joining—Hypixel is pre-configured and safe, but other servers may have restrictions.
Can I add more mods to this modpack?
Yes, you can add compatible mods, but be cautious as additional mods may reduce FPS gains. Stick to client-side mods and avoid adding conflicting performance mods that might override Sodium or other core optimization mods already included.
What should I set my render distance to?
Start with a render distance between 8-12 chunks for a good balance of visuals and performance; adjust higher or lower based on your FPS and system specs. You can change this in Video Settings and see the impact on your FPS immediately.
Why do some blocks or textures look different?
Performance mods like Sodium may simplify certain visual effects or use different rendering methods. This is intentional for FPS optimization—you can adjust specific visual settings in the Video Settings menu to restore some effects if desired.
Does this modpack work on older computers?
This modpack is designed to boost FPS on a wide range of systems, but very old hardware may still struggle. Try lowering render distance, disabling unnecessary mods, and reducing other video settings to squeeze out more performance.
How do I disable mods I don't want?
Click the Mods button in the main menu to see your installed mods, then toggle off any mods you don't need. Restart Minecraft for the changes to take effect.
