Book Scroll Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn pages in a book with the scroll wheel?
Open any book, then roll your mouse scroll wheel while the book screen is showing. Scrolling one direction moves forward through the pages and scrolling the other direction moves back.
Does scrolling work in a book and quill while I'm writing?
Yes, you can scroll to move between pages in a book and quill as well as in finished written books. This lets you look back at earlier pages without clicking the arrows at the bottom of the screen.
How do I get to a page far into a long book quickly?
Scroll faster. The page turning speed follows how fast you scroll, so quick flicks of the wheel skip through many pages in a few seconds.
How do I turn pages slowly so I don't skip past the one I want?
Scroll slowly, one notch at a time. Slower scrolling turns pages more slowly, so you can stop right on the page you want.
Why is the scroll wheel not turning my book pages?
Make sure the book screen is actually open and that your mouse wheel works in other places, such as scrolling the hotbar. Also confirm the mod is loaded in your mod list, because without it the book will only respond to the arrow buttons.
Do the arrow buttons at the bottom of the book still work?
Yes. The mod adds scroll wheel navigation on top of the normal controls, so you can still click the arrows whenever you like.
Is there a setting or key I need to bind to use the scroll wheel in books?
No special key is needed. Once the mod is installed, scrolling in the book screen works on its own.
Will scrolling in a book change my selected hotbar slot?
Not while the book screen is open. In the book screen the scroll wheel is used for turning pages, and the hotbar scrolling only applies when you are back in the game view.
Can I scroll past the first or last page of a book?
No. Scrolling stops at the first page and at the last page, just like the arrow buttons do.
Does the Book Scroll Mod affect performance or conflict with other mods?
It only changes how the book screen reacts to the mouse wheel, so it should not noticeably affect performance. If another mod also changes the book screen, the two may interfere, so try removing the other mod to check whether it is the cause.
