Bogged Spawn Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get bogged to spawn with this mod?
Just play normally and go where skeletons spawn: dark caves, dark overworld areas at night, and some Nether biomes. Each time a skeleton would spawn, there is a 10% chance it spawns as a bogged instead, so you no longer need a swamp.
Do bogged still spawn in swamps?
Yes. The mod adds spawning in other places on top of the vanilla swamp spawns, so swamps still work as before.
Does the mod replace skeletons with bogged?
No. Most skeleton spawns stay as regular skeletons, and only about 1 in 10 becomes a bogged. You will still meet plenty of normal skeletons.
Why am I not seeing any bogged in my cave or dungeon?
The 10% chance applies per skeleton spawn, so you may need to see several skeletons before a bogged shows up. Spend more time in dark, well-spawning areas and light up nearby spaces so the spawns happen where you want them. Mob spawners are a separate mechanic and may not follow the 10% rule.
Which biomes can bogged spawn in now?
Any overworld biome where a regular skeleton can spawn, plus some Nether biomes. If skeletons spawn there, a bogged can too.
How do I deal with the poison arrows from a bogged?
Bogged arrows inflict poison, so keep your distance or fight from behind cover and close in quickly. Drinking milk cures poison. A shield also blocks the arrows.
Do bogged burn in sunlight like skeletons?
Yes, they behave like skeletons and burn in daylight unless they are shaded or wearing something on their head. That makes surface bogged much more of a night threat.
Can I still shear bogged for mushrooms with this mod?
Yes. The mod only changes where they spawn, so bogged found outside swamps can be sheared for mushrooms like any other. Use shears on the bogged and be ready for its poison arrows while you do it.
Is this mod compatible with other mods that change mob spawning?
It works by changing which skeletons spawn, so it should coexist with most mods. Mods that also rewrite skeleton spawns or biome spawn lists could conflict or stack in odd ways. If you see strange spawn behavior, test with just this mod to find out which one is responsible.
Will this mod hurt my game performance?
It shouldn't. It doesn't add extra mobs on top of the skeleton spawns, it only changes the type of some of them. If you see lag, other mods or heavy mob farms are more likely the cause.
