Open your world map in the browser for the first time

Getting the first render going

BlueMap does nothing visible until its config files exist and it has been allowed to fetch the vanilla resources it needs to draw blocks.

1. Start the game or server once with the mod installed. A bluemap folder appears inside your config folder.

2. Open core.conf and find the setting for accepting the resource download. Change it to true and save. This lets BlueMap get the block textures and models it uses for rendering.

3. Start the world or server again. BlueMap now begins rendering your maps in the background.

4. Run /bluemap in chat or the console to see the status of each map and how far the render has progressed.

Viewing the map

BlueMap ships with a built-in web server, which is on by default. The default port is 8100.

  • On the same computer, open a browser and go to http://localhost:8100.
  • Use the menu to switch between maps (for example the overworld, Nether and End) and between perspective, flat and free-flight views.

If the page loads but the map is empty or has holes, the first render is probably still running. Large worlds can take a while, and the map fills in as chunks finish.
