Let other players see your BlueMap from outside your network

Check the built-in web server

The map is served by BlueMap's integrated web server. Its settings are in webserver.conf in the config/bluemap folder.

  • enabled must be true.
  • port sets the port, which is 8100 by default.
  • The IP setting controls which network address it listens on. Leave it at the default unless you know you need to bind to a specific address.

After editing, run /bluemap reload or restart.

Make it reachable

1. On a rented server host, open or allocate the extra port in the host's control panel and give players your-server-address:8100.

2. On a home-hosted server, forward the web port in your router to the machine running the server. Also allow it through the firewall.

3. Test from a device that is not on your network, such as a phone on mobile data.

If you already run a web server

You can put a reverse proxy such as nginx in front of BlueMap's port. That gives you a normal domain name and HTTPS without exposing port 8100 directly. Point the proxy at the BlueMap web server address and port.

If players see the page but no map data, the proxy is usually not passing requests through correctly. Test http://localhost:8100 on the server itself first to confirm BlueMap works.
