Hide players, caves and private areas on your BlueMap

Control player markers

Open plugin.conf in config/bluemap. Here you can:

  • Turn live player markers on or off entirely.
  • Hide players in certain game modes, such as spectator.
  • Hide players who are invisible or vanished.

Save, then run /bluemap reload. Players can also hide themselves from the map with BlueMap's player-visibility command if you allow it, so check the in-game command list for your setup.

Limit what gets rendered

Each map has its own file in config/bluemap/maps. Open the one you want to change.

1. Set the minimum and maximum X and Z values (min-x, max-x, min-z, max-z) to render only a region and keep bases outside it off the map.

2. Use the min-y and max-y values to cut off the world vertically.

3. To stop caves from showing as dark holes, lower or raise the cave removal setting (remove-caves-below-y) so that underground areas are not rendered.

Save the file and run /bluemap reload. Because this changes how tiles are drawn, run /bluemap purge <map> and let it re-render so the old, unrestricted tiles are replaced.
