Blood N’ Particles Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on blood effects after installing the pack?
Blood N' Particles activates automatically once the data pack is loaded into your world. You should see red particles and blood marks appear the next time you deal or take damage. If nothing happens, check that the data pack is enabled in your world settings under Data Packs.
Why aren't blood particles showing up when I hit mobs?
Make sure particle effects aren't disabled in your Video Settings—set Particles to minimum "All" or higher. Also verify the data pack is active by checking your world's Data Packs menu. If particles still don't appear, try standing closer to the mob when attacking.
Can I make blood effects show up for only certain mobs?
Yes, you can customize which mob categories display blood effects by editing the data pack's configuration files. The pack supports toggling effects separately for overworld animals, hostile mobs, Nether creatures, and End monsters.
How long do blood puddles stay on the ground?
Blood marks fade and disappear automatically after a few seconds to keep your world clean. You can adjust how long puddles last before vanishing by modifying the data pack's duration settings.
Do bigger hits create bigger blood puddles?
Yes—the more damage you deal or take, the larger the blood splatter that appears on the ground. Heavy damage hits create noticeably larger puddles than weak attacks.
Will this mod work with mobs wearing armor?
Blood effects still appear when you hit armored mobs, though the visual impact may be less dramatic than on unarmored creatures. The particles and puddles display normally regardless of the mob's equipment.
Does this pack affect performance or cause lag?
Blood N' Particles is designed to be lightweight, but many particle effects on screen at once can impact performance on lower-end systems. If you experience lag during intense combat, try reducing the Particles setting in Video Settings or adjusting the data pack's particle density.
Can I change the color of blood effects?
Yes, you can customize blood particle colors for different mob types by editing the data pack's configuration. This lets you assign unique colors to specific mobs or categories if you want variety beyond the default red.
Do blood effects work on players when they take damage?
Yes, you'll see blood particles and hear damage sounds when you take damage yourself, making combat feel more immersive. The effects scale with the amount of damage you receive.
Will blood effects show up if I have other particle-heavy mods or packs installed?
Blood N' Particles should work alongside most other data packs and mods, but extreme particle saturation from multiple sources can cause performance issues. If conflicts occur, check that no other pack is overriding the same mob damage mechanics.
