Export Entities and Animate Them in Blender

Capture Your Entity

Spawn or locate the entity you want to export (mobs, animals, or custom entities from mods). Position it in a clear area where you can see its full model and any animated parts.

Export with Animation Data

Open Blockstream Sculptor and select the entity export option. Configure:

  • Include Animations: Enable this to capture any built-in animation frames the entity has.
  • Texture Atlas Size: Choose appropriately for the entity's texture complexity.
  • Thread Count: Increase if exporting multiple entities.

Export the entity. The mod generates a glTF file containing the entity's mesh, textures, and animation data if available.

Set Up Animation in Blender

Import the glTF file into Blender. If animations were captured, they will appear in Blender's Action Editor. You can:

  • Play back existing animations in the timeline.
  • Layer new animations on top using Blender's armature tools.
  • Render the entity in motion for video or GIF creation.

The entity's textures and colors are preserved exactly as they appear in-game.
