Fixing a renamed sword that still looks like a normal sword

If you renamed a sword and it still shows the vanilla model, work through these checks.

Check the name

1. Hover over the sword and read the name. It should be only the model name, such as hero sword.

2. Look for typos, extra spaces at the start or end, or a missing word. molten katana and molten blade are different models, and so are demonic cleaver and demonic blade.

3. Retype the name in the anvil and take the sword out again.

Check the pack

1. Open Options > Resource Packs and confirm Blades of Majestica is in the active column.

2. Move it above other packs that change swords. Packs higher in the list override the ones below.

3. Reload with F3 + T after changing the order.

4. Name-based item models are often handled by a client feature such as the one in OptiFine or a compatible mod. If the name is right and the pack is active but nothing changes, check whether your setup supports renamed-item textures.

Also make sure you are holding a sword. The pack is described as working on swords, so other tools or items may not change.
