Blade Ballet Reflexive Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using the mod's combat system?
Hold your Sneak key to raise your guard and begin blocking incoming damage. Your posture meter will appear on screen, and you'll immediately start learning the timing-based defense system that replaces traditional blocking.
What's the difference between blocking and parrying?
Blocking (holding Sneak) absorbs damage and builds your guard counter, while parrying requires you to press your block action within half a second of an incoming attack to reflect damage and trigger a shockwave. Parrying is riskier but more rewarding.
How do I stun enemies?
Keep attacking enemies to fill their posture meter—this represents their balance and defensive capacity. Once the meter completely fills, they become stunned and unable to move or attack, giving you a window to deal heavy damage.
What happens when I take posture damage?
Posture damage appears as a red section on your posture bar and represents temporary imbalance. You can recover this red damage by landing hits on enemies through the Rally mechanic, or it will slowly regenerate if you stop taking damage.
How do guard counters work?
While you're blocking with your guard raised, a counter charge builds up automatically. Once charged, you can release your block or attack to unleash a counter-offensive that turns your defense into an aggressive move.
Can I block projectiles like arrows?
Yes—when you raise your guard, arrows and other projectiles coming directly toward you will be deflected or dropped in front of you, making defense useful against ranged enemies too.
What does internal damage do?
Internal damage accumulates from blocked hits and stays hidden until an enemy is stunned. When a stun occurs, all accumulated internal damage converts into armor-piercing damage that ignores protection.
Do different weapons have different movesets?
Yes—over fifty item categories have dedicated combat movesets and unique weapon properties. You can access your skill menu to view available moves and unlock new actions that suit your preferred playstyle.
How does posture meter size change between mobs and players?
Posture meter capacity is based on body size and armor—larger mobs and heavily armored targets have bigger posture meters that take longer to fill, while smaller enemies go down faster.
Can I dual wield weapons with this mod?
Yes, the mod introduces dual wielding mechanics that let you hold weapons in both hands for different combat combinations. Check your skill menu to see movesets available for your equipped weapons.
