Using the Nature Compass with Biome Spy

What the compass does

The Nature Compass is an item that points you toward a biome you select. Biome Spy speeds up the biome lookup that the compass relies on, so the needle updates and locks onto a target far faster than it otherwise would. You do not need to configure anything — the speed-up is automatic once the mod is loaded.

Step by step

1. Hold the Nature Compass and open its selection interface.

2. Pick the biome you want from the list. Modded biomes from TerraBlender and AlexsCaves appear here too.

3. Watch the compass needle settle on a direction. With Biome Spy active, this happens quickly instead of after a noticeable delay.

4. Follow the needle, re-checking it as you travel, until you arrive.

When it helps most

The compass shines when you want to wander toward a biome without typing coordinates. Pair it with /locate biome when you want an exact position: use the compass for direction and the command for the precise spot. If the compass seems stuck, reselect the biome to force a fresh search.
