Fixing a Biome That Never Appears in Your World
Understand Why a Biome Is Missing
A biome can be absent because your world seed, terrain generator, or a datapack simply never places it. Biome Replacer cannot force a biome to spawn on its own, but it can redirect an existing biome into the one you want, which is the practical fix for most players.
Pick a Donor Biome
Choose a biome that does appear frequently in your world and that you are willing to lose. Common candidates are large, boring biomes you see everywhere. Note its namespaced ID.
Redirect It to the Missing Biome
Open biome-replacer.properties and add a line in the form donor_biome > wanted_biome. For example, if you never see a specific rare biome, map a common one onto it. Save the file and restart the server. Because the mod only swaps biome assignment and leaves other terrain generation untouched, the shape of the land stays the same while the biome identity changes.
Confirm the Result
Travel into freshly generated chunks and check the F3 screen for the biome name. If it still shows the donor, verify the IDs and that the config loaded without errors. Remember existing chunks will not change, so explore outward to see the effect.
