Beyond Outdoors FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start making decorations in Beyond Outdoors?
Craft a Blueprint for the decoration set you want, then place that Blueprint into a Stonecutter to produce the actual decoration blocks. Once you have a decoration placed in the world, right-click it with an empty hand to see its available shape variants.
Can I change what a decoration looks like after I place it?
Yes, right-click any placed decoration with an empty hand to cycle through its different shape variants instantly. This lets you swap between different appearances without breaking and replacing the block.
How do I change the color of furniture?
Right-click dyeable furniture pieces with any dye item to change their color. Not all decorations are dyeable, but most furniture pieces support this feature.
What are the five decoration sets included in the mod?
The mod includes garden decorations, city construction blocks, alleyway trash items, and two additional themed sets, totaling 100 different pieces across five unique categories.
Can I stack decorations on top of each other?
Yes, the mod is designed to allow stacking multiple decorations to build custom scenes and more complex structures for your builds.
Do I need a Stonecutter to craft these items?
Yes, after crafting a Blueprint, you must place it into a Stonecutter to produce the actual decoration blocks. This is the standard crafting method for all Beyond Outdoors items.
Why aren't some of my decorations changing color when I use dye?
Not every decoration block is dyeable—only specific furniture pieces support color changes. Check if the item you're trying to dye is listed as a dyeable piece in the mod's documentation.
Can I use these decorations in creative mode only or survival too?
All decorations can be used in both survival and creative modes. In survival, you'll need to craft Blueprints and process them through a Stonecutter; in creative mode, you can grab items directly from the inventory.
Do these decorations have collision or can mobs walk through them?
Most decorations are solid blocks with collision, though some thinner pieces like certain garden items may have reduced collision boxes. Test placement in your specific build to confirm behavior.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Beyond Outdoors adds blocks and items but doesn't include complex mechanics like tile entities or constant updates, so performance impact should be minimal on most systems. Large decorative builds will have the same performance characteristics as any other block-heavy construction.
