Better Vanilla Animals Heycronus Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need OptiFine for this pack to work?
Yes, OptiFine is required because the pack uses Custom Entity Models (CEM) to display the 3D details on animals. Without OptiFine, you'll see the default Minecraft mobs instead of the enhanced versions.
Why can't I see the animal details even with OptiFine installed?
Make sure the resource pack is enabled in your world settings and ranked above any conflicting packs in your load order. Also verify that OptiFine's Custom Entity Models setting is turned on in Video Settings > Quality.
Will this pack work with my other resource packs?
It can work alongside other packs, but place Better Vanilla Animals higher in your resource pack list if you want its animal models to take priority. If another pack also modifies animals, there may be conflicts or one will override the other.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The pack is designed to be lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable lag even on lower-end systems. If you experience performance drops, try disabling other resource packs or lowering your render distance.
Can I use this on a multiplayer server?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this pack on any server without needing server-side installation. Other players won't see your enhanced animals unless they also have the pack installed.
Do the animals have different variants or colors?
The pack enhances the existing vanilla animal variants you already see in Minecraft, like different colored sheep and cow patterns. It doesn't add new animal types or completely new color variants.
What animals does this pack improve?
The pack currently enhances cows, pigs, sheep, and chickens with improved snouts, tails, ears, and other 3D details. Other farm animals like horses or llamas are not included in this version.
Will the pack update to include more animals?
Check the mod's official page or documentation for information about planned updates, as this FAQ cannot confirm future additions.
How do I remove this pack if I don't like it?
Go to your world's resource pack settings and click the arrow to move the pack from 'Active' back to 'Available,' then save. Your animals will return to their default appearance.
Does this pack work with Fabric or only Forge?
Since this is a resource pack using OptiFine's Custom Entity Models, it works independently of your mod loader as long as you have OptiFine installed for your version of Minecraft.
