What does the Better Than Mending Mod change about the Mending enchantment?
It lets you sneak and right click a Mending item in your hand to spend your carried XP and repair it on the spot. Vanilla Mending only repairs gradually when XP orbs drop nearby.
How do you trigger a repair with this mod?
Sneak and right click while holding an item that has Mending. The repair pulls levels straight from your own XP bar.
Which piece of gear gets repaired first when you have several Mending items?
The item with the least durability remaining is patched first. This applies whenever multiple qualifying pieces of gear are present.
How many levels of the Mending enchantment does the mod ship with?
Three levels ship by default. A higher level trades more of your XP for more durability restored.
Can you put Infinity and Mending on the same bow with this mod?
Yes, the mod allows both enchantments on one bow. Vanilla normally refuses that combination.
Does the mod keep Unbreaking separate from Mending?
Yes, Unbreaking is kept apart from Mending by default. The mod author balanced it that way.
