How to Use Badge Icons Next to Player Names in Better Tab Mod

What Badges Are

Better Tab Mod supports a badge system that places custom icons next to player names in the list. These badges are provided by the server or by other mods and integrations, not created by you directly in the tab list. They are typically used to show ranks, roles, staff status, or other distinctions.

Seeing Badges Correctly

For badges to appear, the server you are playing on must support and send them. If a server does not use a badge system, you will simply see plain names. When badges are present, they render alongside the name, and the mod keeps spacing clean so icons do not collide with text.

Practical Notes

  • Badges are server-driven; you cannot add your own icons through this mod alone.
  • If badges look misaligned, check your GUI scale — very small scales can make icons hard to distinguish.
  • On servers that combine badges with long names, the anti-overlap handling keeps everything legible.

Troubleshooting Missing Badges

If you expect badges but see none, the most likely cause is that the server does not send badge data, or a required companion mod is not present. The tab list itself will still work normally, showing names and ping without the icons.
