How to Read Numerical Ping Values in Better Tab Mod

Where the Ping Number Appears

Instead of the vague signal bars you may be used to, Better Tab Mod shows a numerical ping value next to each player in the list. This number represents the connection latency between you and that player (or the server's measurement of them), giving you a precise figure rather than a rough visual estimate.

Why Numbers Beat Bars

Signal bars only tell you a broad category — good, okay, or bad. A number lets you compare players directly and spot who is lagging. This is useful when you are choosing teammates, diagnosing why someone seems to teleport around, or checking your own connection relative to others.

Practical Uses

  • Watch your own ping over time to see if your connection is stable or spiking.
  • Compare ping across players to identify who might be causing sync issues in a group activity.
  • Use it as a quick sanity check before a competitive match or boss fight.

If the Number Looks Wrong

Ping values fluctuate naturally, so a single high reading is not always meaningful. Watch the value over several seconds before drawing conclusions. If everyone shows unusually high ping, the problem is likely server-side rather than with any individual player.
