Better RTP Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using RTP for the first time?
Type /rtp in chat to open the teleport menu, then click on a biome icon or the random option. Stand still during the warmup countdown without moving or taking damage, and you'll be teleported to a safe location in that biome.
What happens if I move during the warmup timer?
The warmup countdown cancels immediately and you stay in your current location. You'll need to use /rtp again and stand still for the full duration to complete the teleport.
Can I teleport back to a place I've already been?
Yes, use /rtp history to open your list of recent teleport locations and click on any spot to return there. Your history is saved even after server restarts.
How do I teleport someone else to a random location?
Use /rtp player to send them to a random spot, or /rtp player to target a specific world. You need the rtp.others permission to use this command.
Why do I have to wait between teleports?
Cooldowns are built into survival gameplay to keep teleporting fair and prevent spam. Staff with the rtp.bypass.cooldown permission can skip this delay.
Can I block certain biomes from being selected?
Yes, use the biome blacklist in the configuration to prevent random or biome-menu teleports into dangerous or protected zones. You can blacklist specific biomes across any world.
Does RTP cause server lag when players teleport?
No, the plugin loads chunks in the background to prevent stuttering and keeps the server running smoothly even with multiple simultaneous teleports.
Can I set different teleport rules for different worlds?
Yes, you can configure per-world setups with custom teleport radius and world border checks so each dimension behaves differently.
Does RTP work with custom biomes from datapacks?
Yes, the plugin supports custom datapack biomes alongside vanilla biomes, so they'll appear in your biome menu and selection options.
What's the difference between /rtp and /rtp now?
/rtp opens the menu so you can choose a biome or see options, while /rtp now skips the menu and teleports you to a random location immediately.
