Minimap Basics

The minimap displays your surroundings in real-time, working both above and below ground. It shows terrain, water, and other players in multiplayer.

Customizing Minimap Settings

Access the minimap configuration to adjust:

• Zoom level – zoom in for detail or out for awareness
• Rotation – lock to north or rotate with your view
• Render distance – balance performance with visibility range
• Opacity – make it transparent so it doesn't block vision

Strategic Uses

For exploration: Spot caves, water sources, and landmarks at a glance without stopping.

For PvP: Watch for approaching enemies off-screen. The minimap reveals player positions before they're visible in your main view, giving you reaction time.

Underground: Navigate complex cave systems without getting lost. The minimap shows your path and helps you backtrack.

Performance Note

If the minimap causes lag, reduce render distance or lower update frequency in settings.
