How to Find and Edit the Better Ping Display Config File
Locating the File
The mod's settings live in a file called betterpingdisplay.json. It sits in the config folder inside your Minecraft game directory. On most setups you can reach that folder from your launcher's "open game directory" or "open folder" option, then open config. If the file is not there yet, launch the game once with the mod installed — it is generated on first run. Open it with a plain text editor such as Notepad, since it is simple JSON.
What You Can Change Inside
Inside you will find the options that control the display: autoColorPingText decides whether ping numbers are colored automatically by latency, renderPingBars decides whether the vanilla signal bars are also drawn, and pingTextColor sets a fixed color for the number when auto coloring is off. Edit the values, keeping the JSON syntax intact — booleans are true or false, and the color is a hex code like #A0A0A0. Save the file, then fully restart Minecraft so the mod reloads your changes. If something looks wrong afterward, recheck that you did not remove a comma or quotation mark, as a broken JSON file can make the mod fall back to defaults.
