Better Party Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I create my first party?
Open the Party menu (default keybind varies by setup) and select 'Create Party,' then choose a name and whether it should be public or private. You'll become the party leader automatically and can invite friends or wait for them to join.
Can I invite someone who's offline?
No, players must be online and in the same world to receive an invite. Once they're online, you can send them an invite through the party menu and they'll get a notification to accept or decline.
What's the difference between a leader, officer, and member?
Leaders can disband the party and manage all roles; officers can invite/remove members and adjust some settings; members can only see party info and use the locator. You assign roles through the member management screen.
Why aren't we sharing XP even though we're in the same party?
Players must be close enough to each other for XP sharing to activate—being in the same party alone isn't enough. Check that everyone is within the proximity range and that XP sharing is enabled in your party settings.
How does the visual locator work through walls?
The locator displays your teammates as colored dots, outlines, or player head icons that remain visible even when they're behind blocks. Each party member gets a unique color so you can tell them apart at a glance.
Can I have more than 10 players in one party?
No, the mod supports a maximum of ten players per party, and each gets assigned a unique color for the locator system.
What happens to my party if I log out?
Your party remains active on the server; other members can still see each other and share XP. If you're the leader, another member can be promoted to take over, or the party will disband if everyone leaves.
Can I customize the locator colors or display style?
Yes, you can toggle between different visual styles (dots, outlines, or heads) and adjust settings in the mod's configuration menu, though the base color assignment to each player is automatic.
Do I need to be in a party to use Party Finder?
No, you can browse public parties in Party Finder whether you're in a group or solo. You can search for open groups and request to join directly from the list.
Does this mod work with other mods that change XP mechanics?
Better Party Mod should work alongside most mods, but conflicts can occur with mods that heavily modify XP systems; test in your world or check mod compatibility notes if you experience issues.
