Look Around While Riding Without Turning Your Mount
Free Your Camera in Third-Person
By default, looking around while mounted forces your horse to turn with you. This mod decouples that behavior so you can scout ahead, check for threats, or admire the landscape without your mount following every camera movement.
Steps:
1. Mount any rideable mob (horse, donkey, camel, etc.)
2. Press F5 to enter third-person view
3. Move your mouse freely to look in any direction
4. Notice your mount stays facing its current direction
Guide Your Mount Smoothly
When you're ready to actually move, press movement keys (W, A, S, D) to steer your mount toward wherever you're looking. Instead of snapping instantly, your mount turns smoothly to match your camera angle.
Tips:
- Look behind you while riding forward to check for pursuers
- Scout around corners before committing to a direction
- Use this for precise navigation through tight spaces or combat arenas
- Your mount will always move toward your current view direction when you press movement keys
