Better Mount HUD Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get the mount HUD to show up?
Just get on a rideable mount like a horse, donkey, mule, or llama — the mount health and hunger bars appear automatically while you're riding. If nothing shows, make sure the mod is actually loaded and that you're on a mount the mod supports, not just standing next to one.
Why can't I see my mount's health and hunger at the same time?
The mod is designed to display both at once, so if you're only seeing one, another HUD mod is likely overriding or hiding the other bar. Check your other HUD mods and disable any that also modify the mount or riding interface.
Where did my experience bar go while riding?
While you're riding and jumping, the experience bar is temporarily replaced by a jump bar so you can see your jump charge. It returns to the normal experience bar once you stop jumping or dismount.
How do I know when my jump is fully charged?
Watch the jump bar that replaces the experience bar — it fills as you hold the jump key and shows when the jump is ready to release. Release at full charge for the highest jump.
How do I tell my mount's health apart from my own health?
Your own health and hunger stay in their normal positions, while the mount's health and hunger are shown as separate bars tied to the mount. The mount bars are visually distinct so you don't confuse them with your own.
Does this mod work with donkeys, mules, and llamas?
Yes, the mod supports horses, donkeys, mules, and other rideable mounts, not just horses. The health and hunger bars appear for any supported mount you ride.
Can I move or reposition the mount HUD bars?
The mod places the mount bars in a fixed spot by default and doesn't include a built-in drag-and-drop editor. If you need to move them, use a separate HUD-editing mod that supports this mod's elements.
Does Better Mount HUD work with other HUD mods?
It generally works alongside other HUD mods, but mods that also change the mount or experience bar can conflict and hide one of the bars. If something looks wrong, disable the other HUD mod and test again.
Will this mod hurt my performance or FPS?
No — it only changes how existing HUD elements are drawn while riding, so the performance impact is negligible. If you notice lag, it's almost certainly from another mod, not this one.
Do I need to open my inventory to check my mount's health?
No, that's the whole point — the mount's health and hunger stay visible on the HUD the entire time you're riding. You can monitor your mount during long journeys without opening any menus.
