How to Show or Hide the Total Mod Count on the Button
What the Counter Does
Better Mods Button can display a running total of how many mods are loaded, shown as a number on or near the button itself. This is handy for quickly confirming your modpack loaded correctly — if the count looks lower than expected, something failed to load.
Toggling the Count
Open the mod's configuration screen. Look for an option labelled something like "show mod count" or "mod count" and toggle it on or off. When enabled, the button label gains a number reflecting your currently loaded mods. When disabled, the button shows only its normal text.
Why You Might Turn It Off
Some players find the number distracting or prefer a cleaner menu, especially in large modpacks where the count is very high. Others keep it on permanently as a quick sanity check after adding or removing mods. The setting is independent of placement and the update glyph, so you can mix and match: count on, glyph off, button in a corner, for example. After changing it, reopen the title screen or pause menu to confirm the number appears or disappears as intended. No restart is required for the change to take effect.
