Better Mods Button Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get the mods button back on the pause menu?
Install the mod and open the pause menu in-game; the mods button is added automatically, no setup required. If you don't see it, check that the mod is actually loaded and that you haven't hidden the button in the config.
Where do I find the Better Mods Button config options?
Open the mods list and select Better Mods Button, then click the config button to open its settings screen. All placement, mod count, and update glyph options live there.
How do I move the mods button to a different corner of the screen?
Open the mod's config and change the placement option for the title screen and pause screen separately. Each screen has its own position setting, so you can have the button in different spots on each.
Can I have the mods button on the title screen but not the pause screen?
Yes, the title screen and pause screen placements are configured independently. Set one screen's placement to hidden while leaving the other visible.
How do I hide the mod count number on the button?
Open the config and turn off the mod count option. The button will then just show the mods label without the total number.
What is the little icon on the mods button and how do I remove it?
That's the update notification glyph, which appears when mod updates are available. You can toggle it off in the config if you'd rather not see it.
Why doesn't the mods button show up at all?
The most common cause is another mod that also modifies the pause or title screen menus and overrides this one. Check your mod list for menu-altering mods and try adjusting load order or disabling conflicting ones.
Does Better Mods Button work with Mod Menu?
Yes, it's designed to complement Mod Menu rather than replace it, and its placement options were inspired by it. If both are installed, make sure you're not duplicating the mods button on the same screen.
Can I open the mods list from the pause menu without leaving my world?
Yes, that's the main purpose of the mod. Click the mods button on the pause screen to open the mods list directly, and if a mod supports in-game config you can open its settings from there.
Does this mod affect performance or cause lag?
No, it only adds a button to existing menus and doesn't run anything during gameplay. Any performance issues you see are almost certainly from another mod.
