How to Open the Mods List From the Pause Menu In-Game

Finding the Button

Once you are in a world, press Escape to open the pause menu. With Better Mods Button installed, a Mods button appears directly on this screen, just like older Forge versions did. Its exact position depends on the placement style you have selected in the mod's own config, so look around the edges of the menu if you do not see it immediately — it may sit beside the vanilla buttons, in a corner, or in a separate row.

Opening and Using the List

Click the Mods button to open the mod list screen. From here you can browse every loaded mod, read their descriptions, and — crucially — open in-game configuration screens for any mod that provides one. This is the main reason the button exists: you no longer need to quit to the title screen or restart the game just to tweak a mod's settings mid-session.

If the Button Is Missing

If no Mods button shows up on the pause screen, open the mod's configuration (usually reachable from the title screen button or your mod list) and check the placement options. Some placement modes hide the button on certain screens by design, so switching to a different position or enabling the pause-menu display will bring it back. Also confirm the mod is actually loaded for the current instance.
