How to Customize Better Mineshafts with the Config Folder

Finding the Config

Run the mod once so it generates its configuration files. After that, open your Minecraft instance's config folder and look for the folder named bettermineshafts. Inside are the files that control how the mod's structures generate.

What You Can Adjust

The config lets you customize mineshaft generation — things like how the structures spawn and behave. Because the mod is described as completely customizable, this is where you tune the experience to your liking, whether you want mineshafts to be more common, rarer, or altered in other ways.

Step-by-Step

1. Launch the game once with the mod installed, then close it.

2. Open the config folder in your instance directory.

3. Open the bettermineshafts folder.

4. Read through the files to see the available options and their current values.

5. Edit the values you want to change, then save the files.

6. Restart the game so the new settings take effect.

Notes

Changes only apply to newly generated chunks, so existing mineshafts in already-loaded areas will not change. If you are unsure what a setting does, back up the config file before editing so you can restore the defaults.
