How to build decorations and paths over a pond using lily pads
Lily pads can act as anchor points for building on water. Once the mod turns a pad into a waterlogged block, you have a solid spot to build from.
Building a path across water
1. Stand at the edge of the pond with a stack of the block you want for the path.
2. Right-click the first lily pad. Your block is placed, and the pad moves into the water below.
3. From that new block, look for the next pad and repeat.
4. Keep going until you reach the far side. The pads stay in the water beneath your blocks.
Decorating the pond
- Put blocks on scattered pads to make stepping stones, small islands or planters that still look natural.
- Use other placeable items on pads for detail, such as lighting or small decorations. Try the item on a pad to see how it behaves.
- Because the pad is preserved underneath, removing a decoration returns the pad to its vanilla look, so you can redesign freely.
Tips
- Every pad you use needs water directly below it, so plan paths along the water, not over shallow gaps.
- Break the placed block when you want that pad to float normally again.
