Move or resize a HUD element on the screen
Each HUD file lists the layouts it uses, and each entry has position values. Changing these shifts the element without touching the images or text themselves.
Edit the position
1. Open your HUD file in the huds folder.
2. Find the layout entry you want to move. Each one has an x and y value and usually an anchor or alignment setting.
3. Change x to move it horizontally and y to move it vertically. Make small changes at first, so you can see which direction each value goes.
4. Save the file and run the reload command (/hud reload).
5. Look at the screen. If the pack was rebuilt, you may need to accept or re-download the new resource pack.
Fine-tuning
- Use the alignment or anchor option to pin an element to a corner or the center. It will then stay in place across different screen sizes.
- If two elements overlap, check their layer or order setting. The one with the higher layer is drawn on top.
- Move one element at a time and reload after each change, so you know what caused a problem.
- Keep important info away from the hotbar and crosshair so it does not get in the way during play.
Because the HUD is drawn through the boss bar, the normal boss bar can still show. Leave some room at the top of the screen for it.
