Fix a HUD that does not update or the resource pack not applying
BetterHud builds its resource pack from your config files. When the HUD looks wrong or old, the pack is usually not rebuilt or not loaded by the client.
Check the server side
1. Run the reload command (/hud reload) after every file edit.
2. Watch the console while it reloads. Errors name the file that failed, so fix any broken YAML or missing image references.
3. Confirm that the HUD is actually assigned to you, either through the add command or as the default HUD in config.yml.
4. Check that you have the permission needed to view the HUD or run the commands.
Check the client side
1. Make sure you accepted the server resource pack. If you declined it earlier, edit the server entry in your multiplayer list and set server resource packs to enabled.
2. Rejoin the server so the client fetches the newest pack.
3. If old visuals remain, disconnect and clear the cached server pack by rejoining, or restart the game.
4. Check that no other resource pack or shader is overriding the same fonts or the boss bar.
Still broken?
- Remove your recent changes and test with an example HUD that comes with the mod.
- Reintroduce your edits one at a time to find the one that causes the problem.
- Other plugins that also use the boss bar or custom fonts can conflict, so try disabling them to test.
