Using the Mod Together With Optifine
The Missing Button
If you run Optifine alongside this mod, the stretch slider will not show up in Video Settings. Optifine takes over that menu, so the mod's video option is hidden. This does not mean the mod is broken; it simply means you configure it through the config file instead.
Editing the Config
- Locate the mod's config file in your Minecraft config folder.
- Open it with a plain text editor and find the entry that controls the horizontal stretch of the render radius.
- Change the value, save the file, and restart the game so the new setting is applied.
- Keep a note of the default value so you can revert if the change causes visual problems.
What to Expect
With Optifine handling other performance settings, the combination can give a larger total fps gain than either alone, but the two tools affect different things. Optifine changes how chunks are drawn and culled; this mod changes which chunk sections are considered for rendering in the first place. Test each change one at a time so you know which setting produced the improvement.
