Identifying When Tools Are About to Break
Recognizing Critical Damage
The pack's damage stages make it easy to spot tools nearing the end of their lifespan. A tool in critical condition will show severe visual degradation—deep scratches covering most surfaces, significant paint loss on wooden tools, and obvious structural wear.
Swords become heavily scarred and discolored. Wooden tools appear almost bare, with large chips missing and splintered edges. Utility items like shears and flint and steel also display unmistakable wear patterns.
Preventing Tool Breakage
1. During extended mining or combat sessions, periodically check your tools' appearance
2. When a tool looks heavily damaged across most of its surface, plan to repair or replace it soon
3. Keep spare tools in your inventory for critical tasks
4. Return to an anvil or crafting station before your primary tools reach maximum wear
By monitoring visual condition, you avoid the frustration of a tool breaking mid-task. The pack transforms durability from an invisible stat into readable information, giving you time to prepare before losing your equipment.
