Better Combat Particle Enhancements Compact Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why do my attack particles still look blurry?
Make sure you've extracted the resource pack zip file into your resourcepacks folder rather than leaving it zipped. If you're on version 1.21.1, the mod only applies redrawn visuals to vanilla weapons—modded weapon colors aren't available on that version yet.
How do I enable custom colors for weapons from other mods?
The custom weapon colors are applied automatically once you load the resource pack, as long as you're not on version 1.21.1. Make sure the mod whose weapons you want colored is installed alongside the resource pack.
My punch animation didn't change after installing the pack
You need to extract the downloaded zip file into your resourcepacks folder—don't leave it compressed. Restart your game after extracting to load the new punch animation.
Does this work with dual-wielding?
Yes, the resource pack includes an improved dual-wield stab effect that aligns with your weapon's tip instead of appearing offset. This applies to any mod that supports dual-wielding.
Which mods get custom weapon colors?
The pack adds custom colors for weapons in Alex's Caves Armory, Aquamirae, Born In Chaos, Cataclysm, Celestisynth, Ice and Fire, Iron's Spells n' Spellbooks, Simply Swords, Simply More, and several others listed in the mod description.
Why are some weapon attacks missing effects?
This resource pack adds missing attack effects to specific moves in mods like SimplySwords and SimplyMore that didn't have them before. If a weapon still lacks effects, that mod may not be supported yet.
Can I use this with other particle or combat mods?
This pack is designed to work with the BC Particle mod specifically. Compatibility with other particle or combat mods depends on whether they conflict with BC Particle's attack effect system.
Do I need to do anything special to see the sharp attack trails?
No—once installed correctly, the sharp, clean attack trails replace the blurry default particles automatically. Just make sure the resource pack is enabled in your resource pack menu.
Will this affect my performance?
The resource pack replaces existing particles with cleaner visuals rather than adding extra ones, so it shouldn't noticeably impact performance compared to the default BC Particle effects.
What if my modded weapon doesn't have a custom color?
The resource pack only includes custom colors for the mods listed in its supported list. If your weapon's mod isn't supported, it will use the default attack particle color.
