How to Perform Weapon Combos in Better Combat

Understanding Combo Chains

Better Combat replaces Minecraft's single-swing attack with multi-hit combo chains. Each weapon type has its own sequence of swings, and each swing in the chain can differ in reach, arc, damage multiplier, and timing. You do not need to press anything special — combos trigger automatically as long as you keep attacking.

Executing and Resetting Combos

1. Equip a weapon and aim at a target within range.

2. Click repeatedly at a steady rhythm. Each click advances the combo to the next swing in the chain.

3. Watch the animation — the final hit of a chain is usually a heavier finisher with a wider arc or extra knockback.

4. Stop attacking for a short moment and the combo resets back to the first swing.

5. If you miss or the timing window lapses, the chain also resets, so keep your clicks consistent.

Practical Tips

  • Different weapon classes (swords, axes, tridents, etc.) have different chain lengths and finisher behavior, so test each one at a training dummy or mob.
  • The wide swing arcs mean you can catch multiple enemies in one strike if they are clustered — position yourself so the arc sweeps across a group.
  • Because reach is calculated from the actual weapon swing rather than a fixed crosshair ray, you no longer need to pixel-hunt; just face the general direction of the enemy.
