How to Hit Multiple Enemies With One Swing
Why Multi-Hit Works
Better Combat calculates weapon swings using an oriented bounding box (OBB) combined with a separating axis theorem (SAT) check. In plain terms, the game checks the actual volume your weapon sweeps through, not a thin line from your crosshair. Any enemy inside that swept volume gets hit.
Steps to Land Multi-Hits
1. Gather two or more mobs close together — tight corridors, doorways, or corners work well.
2. Face the center of the group rather than a single mob.
3. Time your attack so the swing arc passes through as many enemies as possible. Wide horizontal swings are best for side-by-side targets; overhead swings suit targets lined up in front of you.
4. Use the finisher hit of a combo when possible — finishers often have larger arcs and will catch more targets.
5. Back up slightly if mobs are spread out, then step in as they cluster toward you.
Positioning Advice
- Herding mobs into a funnel (a one-block gap or a doorway) forces them into a line your swing can cover.
- Avoid attacking from directly above or below a group; the sweep volume is harder to align that way.
- Practice on passive mobs first to learn each weapon's arc before relying on it in a fight.
