How to Change Cloud Style and Density in Better Clouds

Better Clouds replaces the flat vanilla cloud layer with volumetric, height-based clouds, and almost everything you want to tweak lives in the mod's config screen rather than in a world file. Open it from the Mods list in your mod loader's menu, or via the in-game config button if your loader provides one.

Finding the cloud options

Look for a section labelled something like "Clouds" or "Rendering". Inside you will typically find toggles and sliders for cloud density, cloud height, cloud thickness, and whether clouds render as a full layer or as scattered puffs. Density controls how much of the sky is filled; height moves the whole cloud deck up or down; thickness changes how tall each cloud column is. Nudge one slider at a time and watch the sky change live, since the mod re-renders immediately.

Matching the vanilla look

If the new clouds feel too heavy, lower density and reduce thickness first, then raise height slightly so the deck sits above your usual build height. If they feel too thin, do the opposite. Because the mod is client-side, your changes only affect your own view and are safe to experiment with on any server.

Saving your setup

Confirm or apply the config when you are happy. If your loader writes a config file, back it up so you can restore a look you liked after updating or resetting options.
