Better Bucket 3D Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to do anything to enable the 3D buckets or do they work automatically?
The 3D bucket models activate as soon as you load a world with the resource pack enabled—no configuration needed. Just make sure the pack is selected in your resource pack menu and you'll see the new 3D shapes right away.
Will the 3D buckets change how I use buckets in the game?
No, the 3D models are purely visual and don't affect any bucket mechanics. Filling, placing, and collecting liquids or mobs works exactly the same as with vanilla buckets.
Do fish buckets and axolotl buckets also get the 3D treatment?
No, buckets holding fish, tadpoles, or axolotls keep their flat vanilla appearance. Only empty, water, lava, and powder snow buckets receive the 3D model upgrade.
Can I use this pack with other resource packs at the same time?
Yes, but resource pack order matters—place Better Bucket 3D higher in your pack list if you want its bucket models to override other packs. If another pack also modifies buckets, the one on top will take priority.
Why do my buckets still look flat in the inventory?
Make sure the resource pack is actually enabled in your resource pack settings and that you've reloaded your world. If it's enabled and still flat, try moving the pack to the top of your resource pack list.
Do the 3D buckets work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so the 3D buckets will display for you on any server without requiring the server to have the pack installed.
Will this pack work with my other mods that add custom buckets?
Custom buckets from other mods won't receive the 3D treatment unless the pack has been updated to include them. The pack only modifies the standard vanilla bucket types.
Does this resource pack affect performance or cause lag?
The 3D models are lightweight and shouldn't noticeably impact performance on most systems. If you experience issues, try disabling the pack temporarily to confirm it's the cause.
Can I see the 3D bucket models in item frames and on the ground?
Yes, the 3D models display whenever buckets are rendered, including when dropped on the ground or placed in item frames and armor stands.
What Minecraft versions does this resource pack support?
Check the pack's description or the wiki's version compatibility section to confirm which versions are supported, as this varies depending on when the pack was last updated.
