How to Configure Better Block Entities Per Block Type

Opening the Config

Better Block Entities lets you toggle optimization on or off for each supported block entity type individually. Open the mod's config screen from your mod list (the config button on the mod entry) or via the standard config menu if your mod loader provides one. You will see a list of categories such as chests, shulker boxes, signs, decorated pots, beds, and bells.

Toggling Individual Types

Each entry has an on/off toggle. Leave a type enabled to keep the hybrid mesh rendering and its performance benefit. Disable a type if you notice visual glitches, missing animations, or conflicts with another rendering mod. Changes usually apply after you reload resources or restart the game, so do not panic if nothing changes instantly.

When to Disable Something

Common reasons to turn a type off: another mod retextures or reanimates that block entity and the two fight over rendering, or you rely on a resource pack that changes how the block entity looks. Disabling only that one type keeps the performance gains everywhere else. If you are unsure which type is causing a problem, disable them one at a time and check the affected block in-world after each change.

Verifying Your Changes

Place the relevant block, look at it from a distance, and confirm animations and textures look correct. If everything renders properly, re-enable other types you disabled while testing.
