Craft Dyed Wool the Beta Way

Understanding Beta Wool Dyeing

In Beta Recipes, wool dyeing works differently than modern Minecraft. You cannot dye colored wool directly—you must start with white wool and combine it with specific dye items.

Dyeing Process

1. Obtain white wool by crafting it from string or finding it naturally

2. Gather your dye material based on the color you want:

  • Blue wool: combine white wool + lapis lazuli
  • Brown wool: combine white wool + cocoa beans
  • Black wool: combine white wool + ink sacs

3. Craft at a crafting table using the white wool and dye item together

4. Collect your dyed wool

Tips

This system is more resource-intensive than modern recipes, so plan your dye gathering accordingly. Lapis lazuli requires mining deep underground, cocoa beans come from jungle trees, and ink sacs drop from squids. If you need large quantities of dyed wool, consider setting up farms or mining operations for your chosen dye material first.
