Troubleshoot Low Frame Rate or Visual Glitches
Diagnosing Performance Issues
Beryl Mod is designed for high performance, but problems can occur. First, verify both Beryl Mod and VulkanMod are installed and up-to-date. Launch the game and check your FPS counter (F3 key shows debug info).
If FPS is significantly lower than expected:
- Reduce shader quality in Video Settings
- Lower render distance by 4–8 chunks
- Close other applications consuming GPU resources
- Ensure your graphics driver is current
Fixing Visual Artifacts
If you see flickering, missing shadows, or color banding:
- Restart the game completely
- Reset shader settings to defaults, then adjust gradually
- Verify VulkanMod is functioning (Vulkan should appear in your Video Settings)
- Check that your GPU supports Vulkan rendering
When to Disable Shaders
If problems persist, temporarily disable Beryl's shader pipeline by removing the mod or switching to standard rendering in Video Settings. This isolates whether the issue originates from Beryl or another mod conflict. Report persistent crashes with full logs to help developers investigate.
