Optimize Beryl for Your Hardware
Understanding Your GPU Capability
Beryl Mod's performance depends on your graphics card. High-end GPUs (RTX 3070 and above, or equivalent AMD) handle maximum settings smoothly. Mid-range cards (GTX 1660, RTX 3060) need moderate settings. Older or integrated GPUs require reduced quality.
Check your GPU model and research its Vulkan support before adjusting settings.
Tuning for Your System
Start with default settings and benchmark your FPS in a complex area (caves with water, forests with foliage). If FPS drops below your target:
- Lower lighting quality first (biggest performance impact)
- Reduce shadow resolution or distance
- Decrease render distance in 2-chunk increments
- Disable advanced color effects if available
Balancing Visuals and Speed
Beryl's strength is maintaining playable frame rates while enhancing visuals. You don't need maximum settings for good results. Many players find mid-range settings deliver beautiful lighting and shadows at 60+ FPS. Experiment incrementally—small adjustments often yield better results than drastic changes. Save your preferred configuration so it persists across sessions.
