How to Invite Teammates and Control Who Can Do What on Your Island

BentoBox protects your island using ranks. Every player on your island has a rank, and each protection setting says which rank is allowed to do an action.

Build a team

1. Stand anywhere and run /island team invite <player>.

2. The other player runs /island team accept to join. They can also decline with /island team reject.

3. Members can leave with /island team leave.

4. As owner, remove someone with /island team kick <player>.

5. Use /island team promote <player> and /island team demote <player> to change a member's rank.

6. Pass ownership with /island team setowner <player>.

The maximum team size is set by the server, so the invite may be refused if your team is full.

Give limited access

Not everyone should be a full member. Two lower-commitment options exist:

  • Trust: /island team trust <player> gives long-term access without joining your team.
  • Coop: /island team coop <player> gives temporary access. It is usually removed when you or they log out.

Use /island team untrust and /island team uncoop to take it back.

Adjust protection settings

Run /island settings. The menu has tabs for protection flags (such as block breaking, chests and doors) and world settings. Clicking a flag cycles the lowest rank allowed to do that action, for example Visitor, Member or Owner.

To get rid of unwanted guests, use /island expel <player> to send them away, or /island ban <player> to keep them off your island.
