How to Remove the Timestamp from Chat

Timestamps are on by default, but plenty of servers prefer a cleaner look. Removing them is a config-only change and does not require players to install anything.

Editing the format string

Stop the server, open the mod's config file, and find chatMessageFormat. The timestamp appears as a placeholder near the start of the default format, followed by a separator such as a pipe. Delete the timestamp placeholder and the separator together so you are not left with a dangling | before the username. Save the file.

Verifying the result

Restart the server and send a test message. Chat should now read as Username: Message with no leading time. If you still see a timestamp, you likely edited a client-side config or the server did not reload — confirm you edited the file in the server's config directory and that the process actually restarted.

Re-enabling later

If you change your mind, put the timestamp placeholder back into the format string in the same position. Because the format is a single string, you can toggle the timestamp on and off without touching any other part of the mod.
