Enable Damage When Riding Without a Saddle

Configuring Damage

By default, riding without a saddle only applies Slowness. To enable periodic damage, you must edit your mod's config file and set shouldDamageDuringRidingWithoutSaddle to true.

Once enabled, you will take damage every 15 seconds (configurable via ticksBetweenDamage) while mounted on a horse without a saddle. The damage amount is also adjustable through the config.

Taking Damage While Riding

When this feature is active, your health will decrease at regular intervals. This creates a survival challenge—you must either equip a saddle, wear protective gear, or limit your bareback riding time.

Customizing Damage Settings

You can adjust halfHeartDamageAmount to control how much damage you take per interval, and ticksBetweenDamage to change how frequently damage occurs. These settings allow you to fine-tune difficulty to your preference.
