Making Animated Armor Render Correctly with AzureLib Armor

The Core Requirement

AzureLib Armor exists purely to make GeoArmor and GeoItem render and animate. If your armor shows up as a flat, untextured, or invisible model, the problem is almost always in how the model, texture, and animation files are wired together — not in the library itself.

Step-by-Step Checks

First, confirm your armor item is registered as a GeoArmor (or GeoItem) rather than a plain ArmorItem. A vanilla ArmorItem will never animate, no matter what files you provide.

Second, verify your geo model file, texture, and animation file are all present and named consistently. The renderer looks them up by identifier, so a typo in any one path breaks the whole chain.

Third, check that your animation controller is actually referenced by the model. If the model has no controller attached, the armor will render statically even though the animation file exists.

Testing in Game

Equip the armor on a player and move around — walk, sprint, sneak, attack. Animations tied to movement or state should trigger. If only the idle pose plays, your controller's state transitions are the issue. If nothing plays at all, revisit the file paths. Because this library functions independently from the full AzureLib framework, you do not need the full mod installed to test — only AzureLib Armor.
