How to Add AzureLib Armor as a Dependency for Your Own Mod

Why You Need It as a Dependency

AzureLib Armor is a stripped-down library that only ships the GeoArmor/GeoItem rendering and animation code. If your mod adds animated armor, you do not want to bundle the full AzureLib framework — you want this slim library instead. Mods like Witcher (More RPG Classes) already do this.

Declaring the Dependency

In your build configuration, add AzureLib Armor to your dependencies the same way you would any other library mod. Because it is a library, it should be marked as required at runtime, not just at compile time — players who install your mod without it will get a missing-dependency crash instead of silent rendering failures.

In your mod metadata file, list AzureLib Armor under the required dependencies section so loaders refuse to start without it. Do not mark it optional; the armor will not render or animate without the library present.

What You Get

Once declared, you can extend the GeoArmor and GeoItem base classes the library exposes. All the armor creation steps are identical to crafting armor with the full AzureLib — same model files, same animation files, same renderer registration. The only difference is that you are pulling in a much smaller jar, which keeps your mod's download size down and avoids conflicts with mods that already bundle the full framework.
