Which Skulls and Heads Can You Mine With an Axe?

The mod adds skulls to the list of blocks an axe is effective on. This guide shows how to check that it works on the skull you have.

Vanilla skulls and heads to test

Place and break any of these:

  • Skeleton skull
  • Wither skeleton skull
  • Zombie head
  • Creeper head
  • Player head
  • Dragon head
  • Piglin head, if your game has it

How to check

1. Place a skull on the ground and another on the side of a wall. Wall-mounted skulls are the same block type in a different placement.

2. Break one with your bare hand and note how long it takes.

3. Break the other with an axe. It should come off faster.

4. Repeat for any other skull type you care about.

Notes

  • The mod covers the vanilla skull variants. Skulls added by other mods may or may not benefit, depending on how that mod defines its blocks.
  • If a skull seems no faster, make sure you are holding an axe and not another tool.
