Maximize Colored Lighting Effects in Your Build
Understand Colored Light Sources
AVALux Reimagined assigns specific colors to different light-emitting blocks. Redstone lamps emit warm orange-red light, soul lanterns cast blue-green glows, and other blocks produce their thematic colors. These colored glows interact with nearby blocks and surfaces, creating atmospheric depth.
Position Light Sources Strategically
Place light-emitting blocks intentionally to highlight architectural features:
- Use warm-colored lights (redstone lamps, fire) near wooden or earth-toned builds for cozy interiors
- Apply cool-colored lights (soul lanterns, amethyst) in caves, nether structures, or modern designs
- Layer multiple light sources at different heights to create complex, realistic shadows and color blending
Combine Light Types for Rich Effects
Mix warm and cool lights in the same space—for example, place redstone lamps on one side of a corridor and soul lanterns on the other. The overlapping colored shadows create visual interest and depth that pure white lighting cannot achieve.
Observe at Different Times
Colored lighting interacts with both day and night cycles. Visit your build at sunset and midnight to see how the shader's sky effects complement your light placement.
